University of Ottawa - Digital Zoology Multimedia AtlasThe Digital Zoology Multimedia Atlas (DigiZoo) comprises 30 modules of information on all the groups of the animal kingdom from single-celled organisms to mammals. I developed user interface elements, language switching procedures (English-French), and an 'available anywhere' glossary. I also shot video and photography to be included in DigiZoo and for the online Biology teaching resource, Biodidac. Because of my Science degree, I knew what I was looking for in producing these images and how things belonged together in programming the modules.
I also produced animations like the arthropod molting animation pictured above and am co-author on a paper about DigiZoo and the uses of technology in education. DigiZoo is now distributed with a Biology textbook for first-year year university students.
