All AquaSonix Therapy sessions take place in therapy pools or the shallow end of warm water swimming pools and are supervised by trained and licensed therapists. As long as you qualify and can comfortably stand and move in waist to shoulder deep water, you can participate in our programs.
All exercises in the pool take place with your head above water. This means you can leave your contact lenses or glasses on and you hair will not get your hair wet. Some splashing may occur however, so feel free to wear a bathing cap during the session.
Once you have completed telephone registration, within a few days you will receive in the mail a complete information package including: (1) Welcome Letter (2) Registration Form (3) Pain Questionnaire (4) Patient Handbook.
You will need to check the Registration Form for accuracy. In the package you will also receive a pain and function questionnaire (WOMAC, DASH, or FIQ depending on what your condition is). Please complete the questionnaire. Should you have questions on how to complete, please call our friendly staff at patient care information centre. We are here to help.
Please bring the signed Registration Form and the completed Pain Questionnaire to your first treatment session.
When you come for your first session, you will need: (1) Bathing Suit (2) Bath Towel (3) Bottle of Water (PLEASE NOTE: bring plastic bottles only; glass bottles are not allowed on the pool deck) and (4) Soap or body wash and Shampoo if you decide to wash your hair in the shower.
